- Anesthesia Update - Access to Patient Instructions and AVS
Anesthesia prescribers often cover patients on the Acute Pain Service, but previously did not have access to discharge instruction functionality. As of January 23, 2026, Anesthesia prescribers will have access to Patient Instructions and the After Visit Summary (AVS), allowing them to add information that needs to be shared with the patient at the time of discharge.
The "Patient Instructions" and "After Visit Summary" sections can be accessed from two activities found in the Patient List, "Pain Service" and "Rounding" (click the camera icons for screenshots).
