- Anesthesia Update - Documentation of Bite Block Events for ECT
As of January 23, 2026, to improve documentation, Anesthesia prescribers can enter a bite block insertion or removal event in the Anesthesia record for patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) procedures.
- In the Intraprocedure tab, select "Events" and then "Add New". The new "Insert Bite Block" and "Remove Bite Block" events can be found in the "Misc" tab (click the camera icon for a screenshot).
- If an insertion is documented without a corresponding removal, a soft stop notification will appear in the record checklist to remind users to document removal.
