• New "This Visit" Activity for Orthopaedic Ambulatory Clinics

As of June 9, 2026, Orthopaedic ambulatory clinics will see an enhancement in Connect Care that brings key workflows into one place. The workspace will move from the Plan and Communications activity tabs to the "This Visit" activity tab, creating a more streamlined experience for completing patient encounters (click the below camera icon to see a screenshot). This Visit builds on Plan by going beyond order-focused tools to include everything needed to document, manage orders, and wrap up the visit. 

• Clinicians can access problem lists, visit diagnoses, medications, smart sets, patient instructions, service codes, and follow-up steps all in one view, reducing the need to switch tabs.
• With the widescreen view in This Visit, clinicians can also benefit from a more efficient layout with less scrolling and fewer screen changes. 

The new layout is now available in training environments for teams to preview and practice ahead of implementation.

New Adult Surgery Preprocedure Order Sets with Preselected Orders

• New Adult Surgery Preprocedure Order Sets with Preselected Orders

As of May 28, 2026, two new adult preprocedure order sets for surgical patients will be available, one for elective cases and one for emergent procedures (click the camera icon to see a screenshot). The order sets will include preselected orders to support more efficient ordering, and are intended to streamline preprocedure workflows, support consistent practice, and reduce the risk of order entry errors. They are designed to support clinical care while still allowing for prescriber judgment. 

The order sets are expected to be available in the system on May 28, 2026. Use of these order sets is strongly encouraged to improve efficiency and reduce the need for personalization before order entry.

• Operating Room Flightboard Optimization

As of May 26, 2026, the layout and content of the surgical Flightboard in the OR space will have a number of updates. Virtual Office Hours will be held May 12 and 14 to preview the changes (see below for details). 

• New suite of warning icons within patient header (SOGIE/legal name check required, Diabetic patient, Pregnant patient, Blood restrictions, Malignant Hyperthermia)
• Existing items (name, staff) rearranged, all text set as "dynamic" to accommodate for multiple monitor widths across the province
• Medication widget logic updated to reflect OR-specific criteria/therapeutic drug classes, lookback window set to active meds/12 hours
• Lab widget break-fix; base names replaced with common names, lookback window set at 24 hours
• New Specimen widget displays source, type, and test
