- Radiofrequency/Fluoroscopy (RF) Nephrostogram Ordering Update
As of March 19, 2026, the current RF Nephrostogram order will be replaced with new orders: RF Nephrostogram Left, RF Nephrostogram Right, and RF Nephrostogram Bilateral. This change is needed to ensure ordering accuracy and mitigate safety concerns associated with laterality not being specified in the generic nephrostogram order.
Prescribers will need to choose the correct laterality (left, right, or bilateral) when ordering a nephrostogram, as the generic order will no longer be available. Personal preference lists and ordering tools will be updated as part of the change; no specific action is required by prescribers.
