- New Urine Culture OPA for LTC Sites
To address the overutilization of urine cultures and optimize UTI treatment, as of January 13, 2026, a Urine Culture Our Practice Advisory (OPA) for Long-Term Care (LTC) sites will be implemented.
When a urine culture is ordered in LTC sites, an OPA will pop up (click the camera icon for a screenshot) and will need to be addressed by the ordering provider to continue with the order.
[Edit: Note this blog post previously stated the change also applied to Designated Supportive Living (DSL) sites. However, the OPA will only be for LTC sites.]
