Ophthalmology Update - New NAT SmartForm

Enhancement updates provide short alerts to new, fixed or improved Connect Care functions...
  • New SmartForm to Document Ophthalmological Findings in Suspected Pediatric Non-Accidental Trauma (NAT)
As of November 5, 2026, ophthalmologists will be able to complete the NAT Form directly in Connect Care to document their findings in cases of a pediatric patient's suspected non-accidental head trauma (shaken baby syndrome). Prior to this change, the NAT Form had to be completed on paper and scanned in.

Ophthalmologists will be able to launch the NAT SmartForm in a new exam, consult, or progress note by either:
  • Typing the SmartLink .NATFORM in the body of the note; or
  • Searching via the SmartText field using a synonym: NAT, head trauma, ophthalmology trauma, or shaken baby syndrome.
