- New Ambulatory Feature - Suggested "Perfect Fit" Visit Diagnoses
Epic has an available feature called "Perfect Fit" that is a machine learning engine which, over time, analyzes users' patterns so it can then update various areas of the system to give the users easy access to the values they select most frequently. Currently, this feature is seen in In Basket, when it makes suggestions of message recipients based on the most common recipients a user has previously sent messages to.
Starting in August 2025, the Perfect Fit feature will be implemented in Connect Care specifically in the area of ambulatory visit diagnoses. When turned on, it will begin to "learn" what an individual ambulatory prescriber's most common visit diagnoses are, and then will make diagnosis suggestions specific to that prescriber in the "Visit Diagnoses" section via a list of quick buttons (click the camera icon below for a screenshot). This feature will improve prescribers' user experience by helping them quickly complete visit documentation, and will decrease the need to build and maintain preference lists that might be too generic for some prescribers.
